Working with three lemons:

We had to design for a specific context - indoor or outdoor. So, I decided to create a bowling ball rack with paper, wooden sticks and three lemons.

Let's Go Bowling

Working with one tomato:

We had to design for a specific audience so I kept the younger generation in mind. Inspired by a Kipling monkey keychain that I had on my suitcase zip right in front of me, I decided to design a keychain that kids could use and have fun using it. They often use cartoon keychains so I made a toy-like tomato keychain, inspired by those cartoon keychains. I attached the loop of the keychain to the sepals of the tomato. The title comes from a festival celebrated widely in Spain in the sense of tomato fights. It is very similar to a Hindu festival called Holi where we play with colours. The Tomatina festival was showed in a popular Bollywood film called Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which my sister was watching while I made this outcome.

How I got inspired to make the tomato keychain

Experience Design

I researched about tea and biscuits (which I am familiar with), fish and chips which I am not familiar with (but heard a lot) and baked beans on toast (which I am a little familiar with). I chose to design a tool for tea and biscuits because I know how difficult it is sometimes when the wet biscuits falls into the cup of tea after dunking. Therefore, I designed a tool: a combination of a strainer and a spoon. The strainer could have big holes or small ones. These would help prevent the biscuit from dissolving in the tea. With experience, I know some of the biscuit crumbs/parts still dissolve in the tea so I designed a spoon under the strainer, attached to it. The biscuit would get collected here which could be eaten later. Considering the strainer right above the spoon, it would be tough for one to eat from the spoon so I thought the strainer could be foldable and could be closed, while eating the biscuit from the spoon. The material used could be steel for the stirrer and wood for the spoon.
